Welcome to the website operated by Pieces of the Past, which includes our affiliated brands: Scott Fillmer Photography, Shanty Travelers, and Deborah’s Iris Garden (“we,” “our,” or “us”). The Pieces of the Past company name is the parent company for the brands, products, and services produced by Scott Fillmer and Deborah Fillmer.
Payment for Services
Any payment for services or credit card transaction will be seen on your invoice or information from Pieces of the Past, our company name. If you have any questions at all about a transaction or website please contact us and we will get back to you shortly.
Pieces of the Past History
Pieces of the Past Booth 1998
1992 Established
Pieces of the Past was established in 1992 by Scott and Deborah Fillmer. We had one of the first online shops at a time on the internet when you created your own shop and everything was very hands on.
In the 90’s we made custom items for the quilting industry such as quilt hangers, quilting hoops, and stencils. As our business grew we moved into other product lines such as Swarovski Crystals for making jewelry.
2008 Product Line Transition
In 2008 we sold the Swarovski product line and transitioned into a line of services which utilized our skills in teaching and content creation. We grew into a custom shop on Etsy, a content creation company to help others advance their own companies, and began developing video tutorials on the YouTube Channel Pieces of the Past with over 11,000 subscribers.
2021 New Brand Channels
In 2021 we began developing our brands into specific channels to concentrate on three specific things, services to others, content creation for our own company, and a physical product line and online store.
2025-Current Brands
In 2025 these three specific entities are Scott Fillmer Photography, which concentrates on freelance work for other companies, Shanty Travelers, which concentrates on creating high quality content for marketing and promotional purposes, and Deborah’s Iris Garden (DIG), which produces a physical product, Iris Bulbs, sold on our online store.
Everyone’s story on how they got to where they are is unique and so is Pieces of the Past. We did not move in a straight line but we are devoted to our customers and clients and do the very best we can for each one of them.
