The Country Road Most Traveled
The photo of the day today is another iPhone shot I took on my way home from work this week. Sometimes it is a real pain to live out in the middle of no-where but it has its benefits as well. This is the normal traffic I have to deal with on my commute, most […]

A Look at the Correspondence Theory of Truth
After recent comments on my blog lately I once again was reminded how so many people in this world are actually seeking a reality of their own making, not the real truths that are actually real. This post-modern time we live in lends itself more and more to an absolute void of real objective truth […]

God Displays His Majesty Even in the Back Yard
The photo of the day today was from a shot I took on my iPhone yesterday while I was walking in my backyard. Walking later in the day when the sun is going down is often where I can meet God and just stare at His awe. It’s often hard to capture or describe the […]

The iPod Touch in the Hands of an Expert
This photo of the day was taken a few days ago, there was just something about the concentration involved here that caught my attention. I love all the different messages you can take out of the shot as well, less the email of course.

The Lockheed C-130 Hercules Flyover from Fort Benning to Montgomery
For the last several weeks these C-130’s have been flying directly over our property, at about 1,000 feet off the ground. While they are not as loud as an F-14 with afterburners fired, they can really beat the surrounding air, especially when flying in pairs. That’s just what they did last night at about 1:30am, […]

Classic Lamp and the Brick Wall
The photo of the day today is one I call a classic but it is really just because I like to take photos of lighting in hotel rooms, especially when they are accompanied by the classic exposed brick wall. Similar to this shot in Colorado, but with no ambient light here.

Hotel Lights in Birmingham Hotel a Blaze
The photo of the day today comes from the lobby of the hotel we stayed at in Birmingham last week. They had a really cool set of stringed lights hanging down from the ceiling. This is actually another iPhone camera photo so it’s a little more grainy than my DSLR but I still think it […]

Nails Before the Trim Up Close
Photo of the day today is something a little different. Love the lighting and soft colors of the manicure before they are all trimmed up. Yes, I was the photographer for this photo shoot. Wasn’t something I had done often, or ever, but it was pretty cool.

Auburn University’s Samford Hall Between the Hedges
Probably the most over photographed spot on the Auburn campus has to be Samford Hall, but for good reason, it has those photographic qualities that stand out from all angles. This is a little less traditional shot of Samford Hall, which kind of makes it look like a toy train station building. War Eagle everyone.

Jimi Hendrix and the Red Wall of Art in Opelika
Photo of the day today comes from a shot I took a while back from a cool little place in Opelika called 8th and Rail. This night was an art and music night provided by some local artists.

Black and White Gatorade Color on a JV Football Field
Today’s photo of the day comes from a football game we went to last night. Deborah and I had a great time getting to see some of the JV guys play for a change, and although this shot doesn’t have any of the football players in the shot, it is still one of my favorites […]

Old School Black and White Portrait Filmy Like
Photo of the day today is a shot I took in almost no light with a very bumped up ISO (film speed). Sometimes grain and texture work, I think it does here because of Jacob’s expression, he’s quite a character.

Early Sunday Morning Light at Cornerstone Church
The photo of the day today is another iPhone camera shot in between services at Cornerstone Church in Auburn. The fall (although it is still hot) makes for some beautiful color even without the leaves.

High Contrast Lighting with iPhone 4 Camera and a Lamp
Something a little different for the photo of the day, this was another shot I took with my iPhone camera. The sticker on the light at the restaurant just caught my attention. Still pretty impressed by the camera sensor on this phone for this type of exposure.

A Little Mixed Up or Dazed and Confused
My mother-in-law used to keep this notebook (which I now have) of clippings and tear-outs of poems and cliché sayings. She used to find from all over the place, almost all of them have no names associated with them, only a few have a way to actually find their original source, but most of them […]

Man’s Best Friend Helps a Self Portrait
I hardly ever do the classic self-portrait but I just happen to need one today. They always seem so bland to me, (I really like something like Brian or Rob I shot a while back, those were two of my favorites). So what else can you do to spice up a portrait if you aren’t […]
