Here is a picture of a Prayer Cloth I made for my new ministry. You can read more about the ministry and/or become a member by click on the photo below. It is being run through a Yahoo group and you are welcome to join in and help with the knitting and cloth ministry needs, the more the better. If you don’t knit or quite this would be a great change to learn from others. These prayer cloths are not difficult to make but offer comfort and hope to those who receive them.
Update, Summer 2010
When I changed jobs a few years back I had to had over the prayer cloth ministry to one of the group members, who did a wonderful job. She has since moved on as well so while this yahoo group is no longer available I will still keep this ministry close to my heart and may re-visit starting it again some day. Thanks for your prayer, wishes, and comments.
Note To Accompany Prayer Cloth
Below you will find the prayer poem or note that we include with each prayer cloth. You can download the Word Doc here or if you like you you can use the text below. I don’t mind if anyone uses that text in their own ministry.
Dear child of God,
This cloth has been created for you by the members of the Prayer Cloth Ministry Yahoo Group. We are a group of Christian women striving to emulate the description given in God’s Word of a woman of noble character in Proverbs 31:20.
She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.
In addition to creating this cloth for you, your sisters in Christ have prayed over it and by giving it to you have entered into a covenant to pray for you in this time of trial. We encourage you to keep it with you as you pray throughout this time and claim the faith of those who made it for you. This ministry is inspired by Acts 19:11-12
God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.
When you are able, please let us know how you are doing and if we can be of any more assistance to you or anyone else you know. May God bless you and hold you close to Him. Amen.
