A Note From Scott Fillmer

Views of a Stadium represents the first chapter in my creative journey towards printing physical projects. This book showcases photography of Jordan-Hare Stadium taken between 2008 through 2024 from the perspective of a fan with general public access. This project pulls inspiration/photos from my experiences at Jordan-Hare Stadium as a fan, and as a resident in the off season. The project is a collection of curated images that spans more than 15 years and looks at a comprehensive view of life in and around the stadium. After almost 30 years of shooting, this book is now the result of my first truly cohesive body of photographic work.

About This Book

My goal with this book was to treat every page like it was connected to each other telling one cohesive story. I shifted away from a traditional layout of each page being exactly the same as the last. This focus on curation allowed me to create a viewing experience with layers and depth. One layer being the collective work, and the second being the individual photos themselves. A photograph is the closest thing to being able to stop time. This collection is a journey through the years of my life at Jordan-Hare Stadium and the people I shared this time with each year. With each new page encapsulating a different period of presence, a different aspect of the journey.
