I created a newsletter, two in fact, called The Token Muse and The Token Word, to build a more personal community than social media will allow. Originally, these existed on Substack. A platform a really like, with a paywall setup I really didn’t. Substack is great if that’s your only platform and all your content is based on that platform, but being tied to a platform and a subscription based package is just not what I’m looking for.
Turns out, newsletters are really hard, which I knew, but didn’t anticipate the time involved in making one viable in today’s tech world. So now, these slices of thoughts and information reside on my website in their own forms. I wasn’t wrong about social media though, turns out it really is just a gigantic data farm.
The reason for the split between these two phrases “word” and “muse” was to indicate a long form and a short-er form of writing. This, The Token Word, is the long form. Any ideas under this sub-heading will be more long for writing than The Token Muse.
