More information is coming soon on this page but basically, all images that appear on this site, Flickr, 500px, Instagram, or any other website that includes my copyright information in the EXIF metadata, or my copyright logo seen in the photo itself, are the sole copyright of Scott Fillmer and all personal and commercial rights are reserved.
If you are interested in using an image of mine for your own personal, non-commercial use, please contact me. If the image usage is truly for non-profit or personal private use, I technically still need to give you my permission for use it even if no payment has been or will be made. If you intend to use any image produced with my copyright information for commercial publication please contact me for rates and terms.
Please respect the copyright information as stated above. I have spent almost 30 years developing my skills as a photographer and content creator, and any image, no matter how inconsequential it might seem at the time, is protected by U.S. copyright laws, and is not intended for public use unless otherwise stated.
Creative Commons and Open Source Photography
That said. I am a huge proponent of Creative Commons and open source content and information. I have tried to live this out many times, and most recently with the tornados that struck our area on March 3rd 2019.
Out of all the information I have read, the best comprehensive look at open source is by ERIC KIM and he has a great vision of open source photography. One day, my idea is to be able to upload a million images of mine to an online archive for open use and viewing.
Thanks for your understanding and respecting the work of all photographers and artists.
