Mission Focus

I have almost twenty years of real world business experience, which brought me to my call into ministry in 2008. I have spent many years in diverse business models acquiring a wide range of skills and talents from marketing and communications in a digital environment to managing information systems. With almost 20 years as an experienced photographer I bring along a creative element, which seeks out new and inventive ways for a project to succeed.

My own mission statement is my focus. I will always explore opportunities that fulfill this statement. The main focus and purpose for my life is to glorify God. I will do this by exercising my faith through living as Godly a life as possible. In knowing I can never be “good enough,” therefore only made right through Jesus Christ, I will seek his forgiveness when I fail. To attempt to glorify God through my life, I will strive to build relationships, while using the art of photography, writing, study, and any other avenue presented, which will glorify God through my life.

Experience

Cornerstone Church, Business Administrator (Auburn, AL) 2008-Present

Scott is the Business Administrator for Cornerstone Church and also coordinates the information technology and building facilities at the church. He is responsible for revenues, invoicing, and budgeting. He is part of the finance committee and develops the Internet presence, manages church-wide events.

YouVersion Bible App, User Advocate (Nationwide) 2012-Present

Volunteer YouVersion User Advocate on the Web and Mobile Team. Responsible specifically for user support for Live Events. Part of the translation team responsible for adding new translation information and support documentation to the website.

Scott Fillmer Photography, Owner (Nationwide) 1995-Present

Professional photographer specializing in ministry conferences, ministry live events, and worship bands. Clients include Catalyst Leadership Conferences (catalystspace.org), Giant Impact, Craig Groeschel (LifeChurch.tv), and Grace Campus Ministries (gracecampus.net). Harvest Evangelism Ministries (Opelika, AL) 2006-2008

Responsible for all incoming book donations and presentation of materials to general public. Coordinated with ministry director on sales, organization, and stocking of all books and media.

Pieces of the Past, Owner (Birmingham, AL) 1993-2008

Business owner responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing, product development, and distribution for business enterprise. Product specialization focused on import and distribution of Austrian crystals manufactured by Swarovski. Increased worldwide sales for 10 straight years and sold business in 2008.

McLeod Software, Software Specialist (Birmingham, AL) 1996-1998

Installed UNIX servers and trained clients on software package. Implemented upgrades on existing systems with follow-up support of installed computer systems.

Southwest Airlines, Customer Service (SFO, DAL, SDF, BHM) 1992-1996

Customer service representative for Southwest Airlines to the flying public. Awarded for consecutive employee attendance three years in a row. Skilled and trained for constantly changing situations in security and safety, FAA security standards and testing, and DEA for aviation trafficking.

Education

MA, Theological Studies: Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (Lynchburg, VA) 2012

Completed a Master of Arts in Theology with a GPA of 3.85. Currently enrolled at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in the Master of Divinity (MDiv) Theology and Apologetics program to be completed approximately Summer of 2013. Exploring opportunities to continue into the Master of Theology (ThM) program or the PhD program in Theology and Philosophy.

BA, Business Accounting: University of Alabama at Birmingham (Birmingham, AL) 1996

Completed B.A. in Business with major in Accounting with over 150 credit hours of study completed, continuing into MBA program upon graduation, for CPA qualification. Minor studies in photography.

With more than 20 years of work experience and over 15 years of personal development in my Christian walk, I can offer a ministry or academic field a well-rounded set of skills from research to writing, to theology, with a strong background in computer information technology. I have been a Christian for over 10 years (see my personal testimony attached) and continually strive to mature in my faith and develop the skills needed for full time work in ministry.

Software / Programming / Coding

I have extensive experience with all office type applications and presentation software. Proficient in coding html, css, and php with a strong knowledge base of Internet code functions, SQL, blog functionality and theme development, graphic design, and social networking.

Photography / Image Editor

Over 10 years experience in photography and photo editing procedures. Programs include Adobe Photoshop CS5/CS6, Adobe Lightroom, and most adobe production or publication programs.

Customer Service

Satisfaction and retention of thousands of customers. Satisfaction surveys among the highest in related market genres for all business ventures. Extremely customer service oriented and driven to provide the best business experience for the customer.
